Now that my oldest is in school, I’ve been able to experience the “back-to-school” madness that I see parents writing/talking/posting about every year! One of the things that has been a little more difficult for me is making B’s lunch every day. We’re only two weeks in and I’m already running out of ideas! Luckily, we’ve been able to try a great array of snacks (that really work for all ages) and I’m so excited to share 7 snacks that are perfect for school lunches and after-school snacks!!
Green Giant’s Veggie Tots
Green Giant’s Veggie Tots are a family-friendly alternative to potato tots and French fries. Filled with broccoli or cauliflower, they’re an easy and fun way to get children to eat more veggies. My kids LOVE tater tots so we were so excited to try these Veggie Tots! They taste soooo good and my kids devoured them. They didn’t even know they were getting a serving of vegetables! This is our go-to after-school snack because it’s super easy to toss in the oven!
Advance Pierre PB Jamwich
PB Jamwich offers all the flavor of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the crust. Such a quick and easy meal solution for any age (I enjoy them and my one year old enjoys them)! I also love that you can throw these in a lunchbox or grab them for an after-school snack. It’s so convenient!
Sensible Portions® Garden Veggie Straws
Veggie Straws are a lunchbox friendly snack for busy families. Made with delicious, wholesome, non-GMO ingredients that are gluten free, and contain no artificial flavors or preservatives. Multipacks are available in two flavors: Classic Sea Salt and Zesty Ranch. These are a great alternative to potato chips and crackers in the lunch box! My one year old son could eat these allllll day, too. Mom win.
ENTENMANN’S® Little Bites® Chocolate Chip Muffins & Strawberry Yogurt Muffins
Little Bites come in convenient, pre-portioned pouches that are perfect for lunchboxes. 10 varieties, zero trans fat, no high fructose corn syrup, and most varieties have less than 200 calories per pouch. These are our family’s go-to for breakfast in the car! So many mornings are rushed and sometimes there is no time to make breakfast! I love being able to grab a bag of Little Bites chocolate chip muffins for my daughter to eat on the way to school!
Sour Punch: Real Rainbow Straws
The Sour Punch® brand just introduced this “better for you” version of their popular Rainbow Straws – now with natural colors and natural strawberry, lemon, apple and tangerine flavors. Obviously, my kids love candy. Who doesn’t?? So these sour punch straws are my new favorites for after-school snacks or special treats! (Soon to be available at Amazon.com, Albertson’s Safeway, and Winco.)
RXBAR’s whole food protein bars are made with clean, simple ingredients: egg whites, fruits, and nuts. Each bar is dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free, and contains absolutely no added sugars. I actually love these for myself and for my husband. They are delicious and easy to grab and go! My kids love them too, so it’s a win-win.
