Our Baby Shower (DIY Photo Booth, Maternity Style, Baby Shower Games + more!)

March 1, 2016

We had such an amazing baby shower on Saturday! When we found out we were having a boy, we decided we wanted to throw ourselves a low-key baby shower since we were basically starting over with clothes and boy items. Anthony and I wanted it to be our close friends and family members, men and children welcome! I had baby showers with both the girls that were put on by other people, so it was so much fun to plan this shower alongside my husband! We did everything ourselves and it came out perfectly. I really hate the typical “baby boy” decor, so we worked really hard to make this shower our style and taste.

Here’s how we made this baby shower our favorite party to date!

DIY Photo Booth

  1. PROPS: I created images on my phone using the app Rhonna Designs. I customized the colors and sizes to what I wanted, saved them to my phone, then emailed them so I could print them from the computer. (See screenshot of images)
  2. We bought craft sticks and round dowels from Walmart for the props.
  3. We printed and cut out the props on cardstock, then used a hot glue gun to glue them to the craft sticks & round dowels.
  4. BACKDROP: Table cloth from Walmart tacked to the wall. $2 blank sign from Walmart pinned to the table cloth.

This was one of the highlights of the party! The guests loved it and had so much fun taking pictures and posing.

Baby Name Game by Tiny Prints / Who Knows Mom & Dad Best by Tiny Prints / These games were completely customizable, so we got to add our own special twists! We had awesome prizes and everyone participated!

Who Knows Mom & Dad Best was my personal favorite! It was so much fun to see our close friends and family play this game. We had so many good laughs!

We also did a baby food guessing game which was HILARIOUS. The prize was a crisp $20 bill, so it gave our guests a super fun incentive!

Earrings by BurdLife

My ears are extremely sensitive and I can’t wear earrings for longer than a few hours, let alone heavy earrings. But my gorgeous blogger friend, Elly Brown, recommended these earrings and said they were really light! And boy was she right! I’m so glad I got these (I actually got two different colors!) They are so light that I forgot I was wearing them… They went perfectly with my dress and I got a ton of compliments on them!

Brooke Ring in Gold Druzy by Wrenn Jewelry / Monogram Birthstone Ring by Finley Lane / Lock It Up Bracelet in Gold by Finley Lane

You can’t really see it, but my Lock It Up bracelet is engraved and reads “GARCIA” (easily my fave piece of jewelry right now)!

Wild Flower Shift Dress by RubyClaire Boutique

Not only was this the perfect baby shower dress, it’s a perfect dress for church, brunch, date night, and so much more. I loved wearing it with my bump and I cannot wait to wear it after I give birth! (NOT a maternity dress, which I love… I can wear this gorgeous dress long after I’m preggo!)

Wishes For Baby by Tiny Prints / It was amazing to read these little cards after the baby shower and see how much our family and friends love Baby Anthony already. It filled our hearts with so much joy! I can’t wait to show him when he’s older, such an awesome keepsake!

Invitations and Thank You Cards

Tiny Prints did the most amazing job with our invites and thank you cards! We got so many compliments on the invitations and I can’t wait to send out the rest of the thank you cards. They are perfect!FullSizeRender (6).jpg
