Toddlers are picky. There’s no way around it. And then there are those special toddlers who hate all food. We struggled with getting our two-year-old to eat since the moment she was born! First she wouldn’t breastfeed, then she was allergic to formula, then she refused to eat baby food, then she hated table food. Now, she likes pizza and fruit. And that’s about it. So our daily battle at home is getting her to eat. And huge bonus points if it’s healthy! When researching healthy snacks for toddlers that actually taste good, I came across Gerbers Lil’ Beanies™. Made from the goodness of navy beans, Lil’ Beanies™ has 2 grams of protein (9% Daily Value) and 1 gram of fiber per serving. Also, Lil’ Beanies™ is baked, not made with genetically engineered ingredients, naturally flavored and has a taste toddlers love!
We went to Walmart to find Lil’ Beanies™ in the baby aisle! Our two-year-old picked out the white cheddar & broccoli flavor (there’s also an original flavor). She was so excited to pick out her own snacks!
When we got home, she asked, “mommy, can I have my beans now?” which was hilarious! And she’s been calling them “beans” since then!
And guess what… snack time was a HUGE success! There were no tears. I didn’t have to beg her to eat. She finished her little bowl and asked for more! (And my one-year-old loved them, too, but she loves allllll food, so that wasn’t a huge surprise!)
The fact that I was able to get the pickiest eater on the planet to eat a healthy snack was a huge win for me! And a win win for her, because it tastes good and does her body good!! We will definitely be adding Gerber Lil’ Beanies™ to our weekly grocery list!
