First Time VS. Second/Third Time Parents

This post is sponsored by LUVS, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you haven’t seen LUVS’ recent commercial on first-time parents vs. second-time parents, you have to check it out. It’s hilarious because it’s so true! My husband and I were cracking up when we saw it and I decided to share my own list of parenting truths!

First Kid: We bought the most expensive bottles with the nice drying racks, bottle brushes, and sterilizers.

Second & Third Kid: Bought whatever was on sale and threw them on a paper towel to dry.

First Kid: If the binky EVER touched the ground or any gross surface, it would be sanitized, cleaned, sterilized and 99% bacteria free before going back in the baby’s mouth.

Second & Third Kid: Ehhh, five second rule.

First Kid: Bought the expensive brand and quickly learned that we were going to spend a fortune on diapers.

Second & Third Kid: Stuck to LUVS, and saved a fortune.

(All 3 of my kids have worn LUVS, that’s how much we “LUV” them!)

First Kid: Strict 3 day method at 20 months old that I pinned the crap out of and everyone swears by.

Second & Third Kid: “Hmmm, my kid’s almost 3… maybe I should potty train them? Let’s start…tomorrow.” *repeats same phrase for 4 months straight*

First Kid: Bath, brush teeth, story time, cuddles, tuck-in, sleep.

Second & Third Kid: “GO TO BED, I NEED ALONE TIME.”

First Kid: Daily baths with bath crayons, tub toys, bubbles, and all the fun things.

Second & Third Kid: “You took a bath two days ago, you’re good.”

First Kid: Allllllllll the cute outfits. Brand new, of course.

Second & Third Kid: Hand-me-downs on deck.

First Kid: Organic, homemade baby food. Only the best for my baby.

Second & Third Kid: How early is too early to give the baby chicken nuggets and fries?

At the end of the day, my kids have a roof over their head, food in their bellies, and they are safe and loved. That’s all that matters, right?! It may have taken my husband and I a few years and a few kids to figure it out, but I’m so glad I don’t have to strive for perfection as a parent. It is SO exhausting! So here’s to fruit snacks and early bedtimes and hand-me-downs!

P.S. Like I said, we learned quickly that LUVS were the only diaper brand we could trust! Every other brand we tried leaked, smelled weird, or were way too expensive. Make sure you check them out! We will be using them for Baby #4, too!!
