Did you know that every 33 seconds, one child under the age of 13 is involved in a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration? Many times, deaths and injuries can be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters, and seat belts. That’s why Child Passenger Safety Month (just finished in September!) is so important to me and our family.
Making sure your child is in the right car seat, that it’s installed properly, and that they are safely fastened could save their life. When Brooklynn turned 5 and outgrew her rear-facing car seat, we wanted to look for one that would be incredibly safe for her. And one that would last for years. She’s not quite ready for a low back booster seat yet, so we looked for a car seat that had a three point harness, and could eventually be transitioned to a high-back booster, and then a backless booster.
We ultimately decided on the Nautilus® SnugLock® LX 3-in-1 Harness Booster from Graco. This seat converts from harness booster, to high back booster, to backless booster, to low profile backless booster. It has removable armrests for a better fit up to 120 lbs. So, we will get YEARS of use from this seat. It has a Simply Safe Adjust™ Harness — meaning the headrest and harness adjust together. And the integrated harness storage system holds unused harness straps while in the belt-positioning booster mode.
I am so grateful that we were able to find a car seat for Brooklynn that would work for our family’s needs for the next several years – and that this seat will keep her safe while in our vehicle!
