10 Things You Have To Do in Scottsdale, AZ

June 1, 2018

Last weekend was one of the best weekends of my LIFE. My best girl friends flew to Arizona and we stayed in Scottsdale for four nights – it was just what my soul needed: incredible food, beautiful hotels, amazing sights and laughter and friendship.

10 Things You Have To Do in Scottsdale, AZ

1) Stay at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale (Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch)

The Hyatt Regency in Scottsdale is an absolute dream. It’s like stepping into a tropical oasis; you don’t even feel like you’re in Arizona anymore! Their pools are incredible. They have a 3 foot water slide, a sandy beach, an adult-only pool with a bar and a ton of other pools the whole family can enjoy.

We had access to Club Regency, which has delicious breakfast every morning, snacks and drinks throughout the day, different dishes for dinner every night, and dessert. Any time I was hungry for a quick snack, I just headed over to Club Regency!

They also have several restaurants, bars, and spas on property. Once you check-in, you basically don’t have to leave until you check-out. They have everything you could possibly need.

2) Experience the Wine Me, Dine Me dinner at Hyatt Regency Scottsdale

The Wine Me, Dine Me dinner is a unique experience that all foodies would appreciate! Chef Juan talks you through a four-course meal with wine pairings and a special Patron Reposado tequila made exclusively for the Hyatt Scottsdale. We had scallops, a salad, halibut, and cake!

3) Eat at Selfmade

Selfmade is Hotel Adeline’s on-site restaurant and it is DELICIOUS. If you go there – order the potatoes gratin and I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

4) Eat breakfast at Good & Proper

Good & Proper is a counter service breakfast and lunch cafe at Hotel Adeline, directly behind Selfmade. I had the avocado toast and more potatoes gratin (seriously, I couldn’t get enough), along with a delicious bowl of fresh fruit.

5) Grab dessert at The Sugar Bowl

I’ve been to The Sugar Bowl many times throughout my life, because it’s basically a historical landmark in Scottsdale – if you’re as crazy about dessert as I am! They have the best Sundaes and you really feel like you’ve stepped into a 50’s ice cream shop or diner. It’s such a fun spot in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale.

6) Pool day at Hotel Adeline

Hotel Adeline is a boutique hotel near Scottsdale Fashion Square. They recently underwent a 12 million dollar renovation, and you guys – this hotel is GORGEOUS! It has a Palm Springs vibe and is the perfect staycation spot. They have two restaurants on site (Selfmade and Good & Proper), a gorgeous pool and bar, rows and rows of cabanas. It’s probably the most “instagrammable” hotel I’ve ever been to. There were endless spots to take gorgeous photos!

With rooms starting at $99/night, you really can’t beat it.

7) Eat at The Vig (at McCormick Ranch)

The Vig had incredible appetizers and salads. I got the steak salad and highly recommend it. It was such a great outdoor atmosphere as well (you can eat indoor or outdoor). We chose to eat outdoor because the weather was beautiful and it did not disappoint. (And A+ service – our waiter was amazing!)

8) Spend an afternoon at Spa Avania

Spa Avania is Hyatt Regency’s property spa. Spa Avania has an incredible reputation around the valley, so I was so excited to be able to spend a day there and experience it for myself! I spent 30 minutes in their Himalayan Salt Room – where you lie down and salt is sprayed through the air. It’s supposed to be amazing for your skin. I also ate lunch by the pool and had a swim in the French-Celtic mineral pool before my mother-to-be massage (which was absolutely amazing). They also have a relaxing lotus pond, trellis covered outdoor relaxation areas, steam room, sauna, hot and cold plunges, and full-service salon.

9) Find fun murals and photo opps in Old Town Scottsdale

While exploring Old Town Scottsdale, we found so many cute photo spots! The cactus mural below is next to Farm + Craft, and we had so much fun taking cute photos to remember our trip by!

10) Eat at Diego Pops

Diego Pops offers a fun and unique twist on classic Mexican food dishes. I got the grilled adobo chicken tacos and we all shared the brussels sprout nachos – everything was so delicious! And the atmosphere was adorable.

Thank you to Experience Scottsdale for making our girls weekend unforgettable!
