2015 was filled with laughter, joy, unbelievable new experiences, tears, growth, a few health scares, bliss & so much more. We’ve been blessed to be able to share our lives with you all! Here is our 2015 recap:
. . . . .
More commonly known as “Jeter” (her middle name) or “sister,” Harlym tends to be the center of attention in most of the moments in the Garcia home. She steals the spotlight with her smile and charm. You can’t help but light up when she looks at you. She follows her big sister everywhere. For most of the year, she didn’t say a word- just noises. Which we thought was weird, because Brooklynn started talking a lot sooner. But these past two months, Harlym has exceeded our expectations and her vocabulary has grown substantially. Now she sings Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Elmo’s World, ABC’s, and “E I E I O”! She can say around 15-20 words. We are working on animal sounds, as of right now she knows that doggies say “woof!” and that’s about it! She is obsessed with this oversized stuffed monkey that Anthony bought me for Valentine’s Day a few years ago. She can’t sleep without it and it’s always within reaching distance during the day. She loves watching Sesame Street. She loves wearing shoes and is always trying to put them on, no matter who they belong to. She puts on hats or glasses or clothes and makes this face– then says “daaaaaang.” It’s about the freaking cutest thing to ever happen. She is never full- there’s always room for more food! We have been so blessed by our Harlym Jeter these past 15 months, she’s made this year amazing.

Brooklynn, also known as “Bebe” or “Brooke,” has grown wayyyyy too much this year. At the beginning of the year, she was basically a baby… And know she thinks she’s grown up! She looks more and more like me every day (especially my toddler/childhood photos). Her hair has grown into this super long, beautiful light brown, curly mane. She never lets me do her hair, brushing it or washing it or touching it results in tears every.single.time. She brushes her teeth five times a day- sometimes more. Her favorite song to sing is Old MacDonald, but she knows just about every kids song there is. She loves the “cell phone” song, aka Hotling Bling. She loves Dora, Super Why, Dinosaur Train, and The Lion Guard. She loves to read books. At the beginning of this year, she conquered the binky… It was a rough few days but so worth it! She’s had trouble with eating, and mealtimes either result in heavy compromises or tears, sometimes both. She’s getting a lot better though. She eats ketchup the way most of us eat ice cream. It’s disgusting, I don’t know how she does it. She’s obsessed with the oranges from my grandparent’s property, we keep a ton on hand because she asks for them every day. Her vocabulary is outstanding. It seriously amazes & impresses me everyday. The things she says are far beyond her years. She can talk in full sentences and full conversations. She’s hilarious. She brightens every day and fills us with such joy, she has made this year incredible!

For my collage, I chose my favorite pictures from this pregnancy, so far. 2015 has been an amazing year. My daughters are growing every single day, and although it’s emotional and bittersweet, it’s the best experience life could offer. Being pregnant with my son, these past 25 weeks, has been the highlight of my year. We wanted this pregnancy so badly, we tried and prayed and after two months, God blessed us with a positive pregnancy test. But the icing on the cake was finding out we are having a boy! This pregnancy has been so different from my pregnancies the girls. It’s been a lot easier and definitely more enjoyable. I’m so excited to meet him in April! I’ve worked really hard this year on creating content for The Garcia Diaries that I’m really and truly proud of. There’s been long nights, sacrifices made, some tears… But mostly- it’s been incredible. I’ve built relationships that I’m so grateful for, I’ve been able to reach and connect with moms going through similar things, I’ve been able to partner with the best brands and businesses… It’s been a dream. I’m so thankful for the support of my husband (financially and physically)! I really couldn’t do it without him. I am so excited for the special things I have planned for 2016 and for the things that are yet to be planned… I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for The Garcia Diaries!!

I saved the best for last. Really, I got emotional going through our year in photo’s, especially the pictures of Anthony. He is the glue that holds our family together. Our foundation and our rock. Anthony’s had an incredible year. He got a job offer at the beginning of the year that was a big pay raise from the job he was at. He took the job and has managed to get two promotions and four raises in his 10 months there. We got our first home this year, thanks to his hard work. He got an amazing car for his birthday that has been so good to our family. We’ve been blessed to be able to travel and do incredibly fun things that we could only dream of doing in past years. He spoils us, there’s no other word- because we don’t deserve half of the stuff Anthony does for us. We are truly spoiled by his love, his hard work, the experiences we get to have, the gifts he gives us. We are spoiled by the fact that he works four really long days, then spends his three days off giving us his undivided attention! We love him so so much, and I’m so proud of all the hard work he’s done this year and the things he has accomplished.
