Circles of Change is a movement created by Ophelia’s Place (an organization with support groups and treatment for individuals experiencing eating disorders) with three intentions in mind: -To change the culture and conversation surrounding health, beauty, and body image. -A creative way to provide long-term sustainability for Ophelia’s Place. -A way to collaborate with like-minded, mission-driven organizations to support a cause.
While I’ve never battled an eating disorder, I’ve struggled with body issues ever since becoming a mama. It’s hard to look in the mirror and not recognize yourself, because your body has changed so drastically is such a short amount of time. Learning to love my body at every stage has been a long process, but I’m so grateful that I do now. I’m grateful for a husband who has loved my body at every stage- in high school when I was teeny, during pregnancies, during births, and while I’m postpartum. I don’t think I would love my body the way I do now if it wasn’t for him and my daughters. Brooklynn & Harlym make every little mark on my body worth it. There are days when I wake up and Brooklynn looks at me and says, “Oh mama, you’re so beautiful!” It melts me. (There are also days when she looks at me and says, “Why’s your pansa so big, mama?” Haha! Toddlers…)
This shirt spoke to me so deeply. When I wear it, I’m reminded that even though my hips hurt from being stretched apart, even though my feet are swollen, even though my boobs hurt, even though I’m getting stretch marks in places I didn’t know possible- my body is beautiful. It’s creating life. And every other body is beautiful. Every body is unique in it’s own way. Every body has had a different journey. And that is something to be celebrated!
When you buy one of these shirts, not only do you get to share an incredible message across your chest, you support women who need treatments and support. The proceeds from every purchase go directly to support the mission of Ophelia’s Place (mission: To redefine beauty and health by empowering individuals, families, and communities impacted by eating disorders, disordered eating, and body dissatisfaction). These are my favorite shirts by Circle of Change: Honor Your Body and of course, the one I’m wearing, Every Body Is Beautiful. Shop here. Follow Circles of Change on Instagram here.
